Twitter Tuesday: Tottenham still ahead of progress schedule
By Gary Pearson
It’s important not to take things for granted, especially when you have one of the world’s best managers positioning your once underachieving club as a perennial contender.
One of our own
Harry Kane scored his 27th league goal of the season yesterday against Watford, now two behind his tally from the 2016-17 campaign. It’s unlikely he’ll catch Mo Salah, who is currently on 31 goals. Regardless, Kane has enjoyed another prolific season for Spurs. To think he’s actually received some criticism lately is absolutely absurd. Kane is Tottenham’s and England’s most important player and the legend is in with a decent shot – with Leicester, Watford and West Brom still to play – of hitting the 30 mark for the first time in his career.
Last North London derby at the Lane
I’m sure you remember this match like it was yesterday. A year ago Spurs delivered a comprehensive thrashing on their loathed neighbours. Tottenham blanked Arsenal 2-0 in a flattering scoreline for the visitors. I can’t wait to host Arsenal for the first time next season in our brand spanking new state-of-the-art stadium. Let’s hope the rivalry in the new stadium starts in exactly the same way that it ended.

It’s just a matter of time
Every now and then we need to take a step back and realize how lucky we are to have a manager like Mauricio Pochettino. While not winning a trophy this season will be seen as a disappointment, Spurs progress has been nothing short of remarkable since Pochettino took the reins four seasons ago. If the gaffer can add a few players in the offseason while keeping his team intact, it’s only a matter of time before Spurs start winning trophies.

Punishment befitting a traitor
Had to add this tidbit from Alan, whose father has been betting against Spurs without his knowledge. Love the fact that Alan changed his dad’s name to Sol Campbell in his phone. How long will his name remain a traitor’s, Alan?
