By now you should all be familiar with the name Malcom, the 21-year-old Brazilian winger has been linked with a host of the Premier League’s top clubs in the most recent transfer window; including Spurs.

The youngster has been lighting up Ligue 1 this year working his trade at Bordeaux, where he has scored eight goals and assisted seven so far this campaign, his pacey, direct and undeniable talent have caught the eye of some of Europe’s elite clubs.

However, It’s Malcom himself who now believes it is time to move on from Bordeaux and test his talents elsewhere, but will it be at Spurs where he does this?

Speaking to Sky Deutschland via FourFourTwo the winger suggested his time in France was coming to an end and hinted that a move to England could be on the cards:

“I’ve done a good job here, and I’m grateful to Bordeaux, but I need a new challenge now, I have to set new goals.” He added, “The Premier League is also a very interesting option”.

Despite this, Spurs will face heavy competition if they are to tempt one of Europe’s brightest talents to join Pochettino’s revolution, with Bayern Munich currently the front-runners for his signature. Nevertheless, the lure of playing in the most exciting league in the world may be a pulling factor for the young Brazilian.

He doesn’t have to look far and wide for fellow compatriots who have been catapulted into stardom by playing in the English top tier with the likes of Roberto Firmino, Gabriel Jesus and Willian to name a few who are currently lighting up the beautiful game in England.

But why would he choose Spurs? Firstly before any of this could potentially happen, we’d have to secure Champions League football for next season – which is looking highly probable at the moment. But once that has been achieved, there is no reason why the youngster wouldn’t want to be part of the wave Mauricio Pochettino has orchestrated since taking over as manager in 2014.

Additionally, Malcom is the kind of young, fresh talent who would thrive under the bright lights of the Premier League; his skill-set is a perfect fit for the league’s gruelling fixture list and full-throttled nature.

And the promise of a new state of the art stadium to play in front of in the countries capital city is a mouth-watering prospect for any young footballer to think about.

Long-gone are the days of living in our North-London neighbour’s shadow; this was all but proven in this year’s Champions League campaign, where we defeated Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund and came agonisingly close to knocking out Juventus.

If Malcom desires a move to an elite club this summer, then look no further, we are there mixing it with the best now.

The Brazilians final decision on where he’ll move to will ultimately come down to where the player’s desires and dreams lie. However, there is now concrete evidence that we can bring player’s with Malcom’s kind of talent to play for our beloved club and the days of being bullied out of deals by Europe’s “biggest” sides are long gone.
