In the ever-evolving game of football, something that has always been a pivotal part of the game is transfers, especially at Tottenham.

Whether it be the glitz and glamour of an utterly extortionate amount of cash being paid, only for the player not to live up to their hype or a bargain buy that exceeds all expectations – everyone loves a good transfer.

10. David Bentley (£22million)
How could you forget dear old David Bentley? The apparent heir to Beckham’s throne was the talk of the town when he joined Spurs from Blackburn back in 2008. However, four loan spells later, and failing to prove himself as the top-player he was touted to be, Bentley retired in 2013, leaving Spurs and the beautiful game behind – oh David what could have been?
