Harry Kane purportedly vowed that he would stay at Tottenham until 2019, which Mauricio Pochettino said is yet another baseless rumour in an ever-flowing speculation assembly line.

The gaffer said that while rumours of this nature are a part of football, they do not affect him or the team. He acknowledges such speculation but affords them no credence.

"“Harry is so disappointed after Wednesday; do you think he has time to talk with me about the future? That is impossible and no one can believe this,” he said."

Disappointment is a personal thing to manage, Mauricio Pochettino said about his players as they pick themselves up after Wednesday’s devastating loss.

"“Everyone handles (disappointment) in different ways,” he said. “You have to give time for them to assimilate.”"

Pochettino spoke about Juventus’ culture, saying they have a rich history of winning which can certainly have a psychological benefit . Spurs are in the midst of a long-term project, trying to emulate Juventus’ successful formula.

Until Tottenham break their trophy duck, winning can be seen only as an objective or goal. Once they lift their first trophy aloft under Pochettino’s rein, the floodgates may open, paving a path to obtain that desirous and elusive winning mentality.

A bounce back performance against Bournemouth on Sunday will go a long way to setting the tone for Spurs as they enter the business part of the campaign. Tottenham still have a top-four spot and an FA Cup quarterfinal with Swansea to play for, so all is not loss.

Pochettino knows how important Sunday is to change the mood and atmosphere in the locker room. The gaffer is full of praise for Howe’s tactics and managerial acumen, saying Bournemouth always try to play the right brand of football.

Bournemouth haven’t lost in five home matches, a run that dates back almost three months. They’re playing a fearless brand of football that reflects their manager’s philosophy.

Spurs can’t afford to suffer any careless or complacent moments if they are to make it 12 unbeaten in the Premier League.
