Tottenham host Huddersfield, looking for fourth straight home win
By Gary Pearson
The only unbeaten Premier League team in 2018 look for a fourth home win on the bounce when Huddersfield invade Wembley on Saturday.
There’s a strong chance Spurs, with a win versus the Terriers, will be five points up on Chelsea come weekend’s end. The West Londoners travel to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday where a formidable test lies in wait. Manchester City are the only team in the top flight without a home defeat.
Current Huddersfield happenings
Spurs can’t afford to look past Huddersfield, though. The Terriers have turned it around after a dark period in which they lost five straight by a combined total of 14-1. Playing more freely and attacking with purpose, David Wagner’s side have won two in a row and are less afraid to make mistakes.

A comprehensive 4-1 win against Bournemouth coupled with a tight away 2-1 triumph over embattled, relegation-bound West Brom has the Terriers three points clear of the drop zone.
They haven’t won three on the trot all season, nor have Wagner’s side been able to secure consecutive away wins.
Eleven points from 14 away matches has the Terriers in 14th position on that particular table.
Tottenham’s terrific in 2018
The hottest team in England look to further cement their top-four status with another resounding home performance. Spurs have kept three successive clean sheets at Wembley, outscoring Arsenal, Manchester United and Everton 7-0 in those matches.
Their undefeated streak at Wembley dates back 13 matches; they have taken 31 of 42 home points, good for the fourth best home record.
The stats get worse for Huddersfield. Ruthless and uncompromising against newly promoted sides, Tottenham have won 15 straight against sides that have just made the jump to the top flight.
It’s the third longest record of its kind according to PremierLeague.com. Only Chelsea, with 27, and United, with 17, have ever bettered Spurs current mark.
Tottenham had their way in the return fixture, running out 4-0 winners in September. Harry Kane bagged a brace in what was one of the Lilywhites’ best away performances of the season. If he scores on Saturday – a highly likely outcome – Kane will be only the third player in Premier League history to score at least 25 goals in three seasons running.
