Tottenham have come a long way since Mauricio Pochettino took the helm almost four years ago. If you don’t know that by simply watching the current version of the team, take a look at the starting XI he inherited in May 2014.

Harry Kane hits another milestone

The legend in the making has hit yet another milestone, appearing in 200 matches with Spurs. Harry Kane is obliterating all records that stand in his way. Yet another feather in his cap, Kane will do everything in his power to bring glory to Tottenham this season. Playing with unmatched confidence, Spurs’ talisman scores almost every time of asking. He is one of our own and nothing is impossible so long as Kane wears Lilywhite.

Lucas Moura impresses on full debut

The lone bright spot from the draw at Rochdale, Lucas Moura showed Tottenham a glimpse of what to expect in the coming weeks, months and years. His electrifying pace is complemented by a rare confidence and bravado to take players on. And it looks like the 25-year-old has no issues in front of goal.

Then and now snapshots often add perspective and insight. Too often people complain about the slightest blip, roadblock or other inconsequential impediment.

Just look at the team Mauricio Pochettino inherited upon his arrival from Southampton. And reflect back on our starting XI dominating Juventus in their own backyard. It’s a transformation of the ages and Pochettino deserves the loftiest of praise for the job he’s done at our, and his, beloved club.

“Megs” from Dele

Dele Alli turned the match on its head after being introduced at Rochdale on Sunday. He made minced meat of Rochdale’s defender on this occasion, executing a sublime nutmeg which almost led to a goal.

It’s not the easiest of skills to pull off on the training ground let alone at high pace in a competitive match. It matters little whom he pulled the move off against. The only thing that concerns me is that he pulled it off, and with effortless fluidity.
