Totally controlling the middle of the park, Mousa Dembélé outclassed Arsenal in yet another dominant performance at Wembley.

With Mauricio Pochettino naming an unchanged lineup from the last two top flight encounters, Dembele once again bossed the midfield, helping Spurs to as emphatic a 1-0 victory you’ll see.

Going up against the midfield partnership of Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny, Dembele completely smothered their passing lanes. While cleaning up on defensive duty, Dembele also contributed to the attack, driving the ball forward with the power and elegance Spurs supporters know well.

His dominant performance against Arsenal comes on the back of impressive displays against Manchester United and Liverpool. Dembele has shown he still possesses the power to control matches against top opposition.

As the game wore on, especially in the second half, Tottenham controlled the pace, and Dembele was a key part of this, picking the smart pass to keep Arsenal on the back foot.

Always looking for the best option, the Belgian played a key role in maintaining possession. He also helped out offensively, providing a pass to Ben Davies that eventually led to Harry Kane’s winner.

As Tottenham took control in the second half, it was Dembele who acted as the facilitator. Always looking for the open outlet, the Belgian made sure Spurs’ attack flowed fluidly.

Pochettino had this to say about his ox in midfield after the match:

"“I think last season he played so well, and then at the end of the season he suffered a problem in his ankle, struggled during pre-season and now is again feeling good? “I think the problem is about his fitness, no?“Because, about his quality, there is no doubt that like I have told you many times, for me he is a genius, and unbelievable player."
