Tottenham supporters don’t need a morale boost ahead of Saturday’s contest but it’s always nice to look back on memorable moments from previous North London derbies.

Let’s start the positive vibes with a quote from Spurs living legend, Teddy Sheringham, who knows what these derby matches mean to the Tottenham faithful.

Though David Bentley has since disappeared into oblivion, his half-volley wonder goal from another planet still sends shivers up my spine. Hey, maybe that’s where the 33-year-old is, residing on a cozy far-flung planet. It would explain better his Houdini act. No matter what happened to the former Tottenham man, nobody can ever take that historic strike away from him.

Christian Ziege wanted to get in on the pre-game fervour too, and who can blame him? Ziege sent this tweet to @SpursOfficial, reminding everyone of this exquisite free kick, which not only wrong footed David Seaman, but embarrassed the former Gunners pirate-resembling keeper.

This brief highlight reel features, among others, Gareth Bale, Dimitar Berbatov, Luka Modric, Aaron Lennon, Jermain Jenas, Nacer Chadli and Harry Kane. Picking a favourite is like trying to pick your top model from Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. They’re all as good, and gratifying, as one another.

Gotta close out with a quote from the king himself. One of the Spurs greatest center backs of all time, Ledley King excelled against Arsenal and knows the importance of these fixtures. The rivalry between Arsenal and Tottenham transcends the sport, showing precisely why football is a way of life, the pure embodiment of North London culture.

Spurs, and Mauricio Pochettino, look to extend their six-match unbeaten streak against Arsenal when they march into the Emirates on Saturday. With confidence brimming, Tottenham are poised to create more magical moments we can look back upon with joy and reverence.
