Tottenham Twitter Tuesday: Kyle Walker-Peters dream debut
By Gary Pearson
The digital chin wagging has increased since the 2017-18 Premier League kicked off on the weekend, so let’s dive into what Spurs-related topics are being discussed on the Twittersphere.
Kyle Walker-Peters makes dream debut
The 20-year-old Tottenham right back was thrown into the fire on opening day and, like Daenerys Targaryen, sauntered out of the burning blaze unscathed (apologies for the Game of Thrones reference). Kyle Walker-Peters handled the pressure like a wily veteran and played with maturity beyond his years. Continued performances like that will give Mauricio Pochettino a selection conundrum every manager is desirous of.
Kyle Walker-Peters vs. Kyle Walker
While it’s only one game, Spurs supporters can’t help but get excited over their young right back’s performance on opening day. Newcastle don’t have the most prolific attack in the top flight. Far from it. But that is of little consequence in the aftermath of a sterling debut. Walker-Peters out-performed Spurs’ former right back and £50 million man Kyle Walkers. This might not happen on a weekly basis but we’re definitely going to gloat when it does.
Yid army on tour
The Yid army provides perpetual support for their beloved team. Always in strong, unified voice and devoid of defeatist thoughts, loyal Spurs supporters have the lads’ back no matter the occasion or situation behind the scenes. Football transcends the on-field product for these devout followers. We pay them homage for their unwavering commitment to the Tottenham Hotspur cause.

Can’t smile without you, Tottenham
It’s a bit soft, but Spurs’ sentiment of this sort is soulfully appreciated. The rendition is expertly done, with the melody quite literally playing with Tottenham heartstrings. Let’s hear a different Spurs song before each match, @therealtommitch. It’s a classy performance matched only by the team’s second half display on Tyneside.
