With only one pre-season match left before the 2017-18 season kicks into high gear, Spurs are focussing on making sure they’re ready to hit Newcastle at full pace.

Tottenham HQ, however, is squarely focussed – today anyway – on bringing you some of the best #THFC tweets of the week. In the infamous words of Eric Dier, “Be careful what you say”, or from our perspective, “say what you want”. Twitter is at its best when people let loose with rancorous rants, funny quips, witty retorts and informative snippets.

Happy Yorkshire Day

For those of you who didn’t already know, Yorkshire Day is celebrated on Aug. 1 each year since 1975. Danny Rose is a Yorkshireman, the left back hailing from Doncaster. Spurs supporters don’t need a reason to replay goals against Arsenal 24 hours a day but sometimes it’s nice to have one. Rose, in his full Spurs debut, scored an unforgettable belter against the loathed Gunners. Happy Yorkshire Day and happy watching.

Eric Dier – Be careful what you say

Daniel Levy is by no means perfect. He, like everyone else, has his flaws. Tottenham’s chairman is so cheap his hearing aid is powered by a solar battery. That thriftiness, however, landed Eric Dier – one of the club’s best signings in years – for a paltry £4 million. He’s worth more than ten times that now.

The below highlight package sends shivers down my spine every time I watch it. I wish Dier could play every match with such a ferocious and outraged edge. It’s old-school football at it’s finest.

Happy birthday Jurgen

The living legend turned 53 on July 30. While Klinsmann only played one full season with Spurs, in 1994-95, he made an unforgettable impact. Klinsmann is still venerated in north London, the former German forward enjoyed a strike rate of a goal every second match while he donned the lilywhite.

Summer transfer window summarized

Does the below tweet look familiar? There are, of course, many other reasons for Spurs’ lack of activity thus far in the transfer window. But you’ll be hard pressed to find a better 140-character summary of Spurs’ summer.
