Another week has evaporated which means two things: We’re closer to the start of the Premier League season and it’s time for another weekly Twitter roundup.

Quick-fire questions

Any idea who the best chef and quiz teammate is on Spurs? The opinion is split on both accords, so let’s see what the lads have to say about the topics. I can’t envision any player cooking for himself too often, can you?

Transfer hysteria

Marc sums up two potential transfer deals that have recently received more media attention than Donald Trump’s incoherent tweets. Daniel Levy has the upper hand on both Manchester City and Everton. City are desperately trying to draw Kyle Walker away from Tottenham while Ronald Koeman has officially cast Ross Barkley adrift on Merseyside. Spurs aren’t particularly keen on splashing out over £30 on Barkley and City will have to spend about £50 million to get their man. Levy is making sure of that.

Mauricio Pochettino’s first Spurs interview

Mauricio Pochettino took the helm at Spurs three years ago and here’s a snippet from his first Spurs interview. The message was clear. The gaffer wanted to make Spurs supporters proud of him and their beloved club. He definitely fulfilled that particular goal, and then some. He’s vaunted for his candidness, loyalty, charisma and footballing nous, all of which will elevate Spurs to their first league title since the 60’s.

Daniel Levy’s type

You gotta give props to Darryl on this one. It’s comedic genius and the number of retweets and likes are indicative of that. Daniel Levy likes them young and cheap. Sounds all sorts of wrong when reading it aloud, but it poignantly evaluates Tottenham’s owners’ transfer desires.

Wanyama street

Happy belated birthday to Victor Wanyama, who turned 26 on June 25. Spurs signed the Kenyan midfielder just over a year ago, and what a debut season he enjoyed in north London. It was so good, in fact, that a street in Tanzania has just been named after him. I can’t see too much free-flowing traffic on it, though, as Wanyama stops everything that comes his way.
