Offering unremitting action, excitement and humour, our tweets of the week are sure to extract emotion from even the most stoic supporters. .

Victor Wanyama’s first season with Spurs

This tweet from Dave Ellis sums up Victor Wanyama’s season in an inventive, yet accurate way. The 25-year-old Kenyan took to Spurs midfielder like this bloke takes to water. The veracity of the tweet is indeed dubious but its underpinning message is not. In terms of value per pound spent, Wanyama was the best signing of the season across the Premier League, his influence integral in Spurs prodigiousness.

Six years ago an American keeper arrived at the Lane

Now 46-year-old Brad Friedel joined Tottenham on June 3, 2011 and retired as a Spurs player in 2015. The boss, attempting to grow Tottenham’s brand and exposure in the US, continues his service with Spurs. He made 50 appearances with Spurs and was a pure shot stopper, his reactions inferior to no other. What an ambassador. Love to see players,  after hanging up their boots, stay true to the cause.

Gary Mabbutt recovering after successful heart surgery

Former Tottenham captain Gary Mabbutt is on the road after undergoing successful heart surgery. The 55-year-old was taken to hospital after suffering chest pains and shortness of breath. Mabbutt is most famously known in North London for leading Spurs to FA Cup glory in 1991. A loyal servant and stalwart, Mabbutt played with Spurs for 16 years and was also part of the club’s 1984 Uefa Cup winning side.

Recover well Mabbsy.

Proud moment for Kieran

Kieran Trippier arrived for England duty for the first time as the Three Lions prepare for a massive World Cup Qualifier with Scotland on Saturday. Trippier took over first-team right back duties intermittently for Kyle Walker during the latter stages of the 2016-17 season, and in doing so, played himself into contention for the national team.
