Spurs, with a win or draw, will finish the season with an undefeated home record, thereby bidding farewell to White Hart Lane in a way befitting of the stadium’s storied and iconic past.

Tottenham are a single solid result away from joining the exclusive home invincible club. Since the turn of the millennium, only Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal have recorded unblemished home records.

Best home records since 2000

Spurs’ 2016-17 home record measures up to the best, at least since the 1999-2000 season. Tottenham have 50 from a possible 54 points and, with a win on Sunday, would take sole possession of the Premier League’s second best home record in 17 seasons.

City, in 2011-12, accumulated 55 from a possible 57 points. United matched their cross-city rivals point total the season prior, while Chelsea also reached the 55-point plateau in their 2005-06 title-winning campaign.

Arsenal, dubbed “the invincibles”, were unbeaten at Highbury during the 2003-04 season. Spurs, even with a loss on Sunday, have one more point at home than Arsenal did during that flawless season.

Chelsea have three times (2004-05, 2005-06, 2014-15) enjoyed undefeated seasons at Stamford Bridge since 1999-00, while United have twice (1999-00, 2010-11) gone unbeaten. City, in 2011-12, and Arsenal in the aforementioned “invincibles” season also achieved the implausible feat.

Spurs, if they avoid defeat on Sunday, will be the only team not to lift the Premier League title aloft after achieving an unblemished home record.

Spurs current home campaign

Even with a remaining match, Spurs have outstripped their previous best home record by at least six points. In 2009-10, Tottenham gained 44 from a possible 57 points at the Lane. The Lilywhites finished fourth that year, securing a Champions League berth for the following season.

The above tweet tells a decisive story, one of Spurs total and utter home dominance. Tottenham take the most shots (19.9) of any Premier League club at home, while enjoying 57 percent possession at the Lane, the fourth highest in the top flight.

Harry Kane, a man whose “one of our own” song will be bellowed for large portions of the finale, scored 16, or 36 percent, of the team’s 44 home goals, the highest proportion in the league.

Next: Tottenham to begin White Hart demolition on Monday

Tied atop the league with Cesc Fabregas, Kevin De Bruyne and Gylfi Sigurdsson on eight home assists, Christian Eriksen, named April’s Player of the Month, is unsurprisingly rubbing shoulders with the best setup men around.

Maybe most impressively, Tottenham have won 13 on the bounce while keeping 12 clean sheets at White Hart Lane.

"English historian Thomas Fuller once said, “an invincible determination can accomplish almost anything and in this lies the great distinction between great men and little men.”"

Spurs, with one more complete performance, can set in stone their flawless last season at White Hart Lane and say goodbye to their venerated home of 118 years with an irrepressible air of invincibility.
