Spurs prepare for their final home match at White Hart Lane on Sunday and the Twittersphere is erupting with emotional sentiment in the build up.

Manchester United making a hash of top-four aspirations

I had to start with this one. @B8CSP0RF takes the mick out of Manchester United’s sputtering top-four chances, after Jose Mourinho’s team endured a miserable outing at the Emirates on the weekend. Can’t wait to host Mourinho’s downtrodden, boring, unimaginative and unenterprising team for the last game at the Lane on Sunday.

Volleys galore

In the build up to #TheLaneTheFinale, @SpursOfficial shared some of the best volleys from Spurs’ archive. There are some absolute beauties in this highlight package. It’s tough to pick a winner but, if forced to pick, I’d go with Danny Rose’s wonder goal against Arsenal. The strike itself wasn’t any better than the others, but it skyrockets in stature when taking the opposition into consideration.

One away from home invincibility

Sunday’s match will be an emotional affair for anyone associated with Spurs. It also bears significant importance, as Tottenham, with a draw or win, will go through the entire final campaign undefeated at the Lane. The below tweet sums it up pretty well. Tottenham are on the verge of invincibility at their beloved home. This story would make for a great fairytale movie if it were of the fictional variety. It will go down forever in Spurs folklore if, and when, Tottenham avoid defeat on Sunday.

It’s so hard to say goodbye

An emotional tweet from Zoe Pearson, who is having trouble with the prospect of saying goodbye to White Hart Lane. I think a lot of us share her anguish. I don’t think anyone is ready to say goodbye, Zoe, especially as Spurs are playing the best they ever have at their storied home.
