As you’d expect from such an unforgettable day, the Twittersphere erupted during the last North London Derby at the Lane, and here’s a few of the best.

He’s one of our own

I was compelled to start with this one. Harry Kane’s record-setting sixth North London Derby goal will forever be remembered at White Hart Lane. The crowd hushes before Kane strikes the penalty and then erupts in rapturous euphoria once the outcome is known. What a moment. Don’t know about you, but I could watch this all day.

Arsenal fans’ reaction

Capturing the abject anguish Gunners supporters must have felt watching their team get utterly outplayed and outclassed, Bench Warmers’ tweet was oh so poignant. And hilarious, too. Too mortified and embarrassed to go on, the moustache takes a dive, not unlike Victor Moses in the FA Cup semi-final.

North London is ours

I think this tweet from e-Spurs sums it up nicely, don’t you?

Referee Michael Oliver gets stuck in

Gotta love it when the referee knocks a Gunners player down. Michael Oliver does his best Toby Alderweireld impression as he tackles an Arsenal player in the midfield. I can’t make out who he professionally fouls, but that’s inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. What a brilliant challenge Mr. Oliver. Skillful, sneaky and effective. Well done, indeed.

Victor Wanyama: Spurs man of the match

Victor Wanyama, who enjoyed an inspired performance on the biggest of days, chats with CNN about his boyhood idol Roy Keane. Who knew he was a Manchester United supporter? Don’t worry Victor, we won’t hold it against you as now you’re a Spurs player through and through.
