It was an absolutely brilliant week for Spurs as they won their seventh consecutive Premier League match, while Chelsea tasted bitter defeat at Old Trafford to close the gap at the top of the table.

What looked impossible a few weeks ago is now in the forefront of Tottenham supporters minds around the globe. Could they cap off the most improbable Premier League comeback to pip Chelsea at the line for the title?

Time will answer all these questions but in the meantime, let’s take a look at some of the best Tottenham tweets of the week.

Toby Alderweireld’s defensive plaudits

If you’ve been living under a rock all season and didn’t fully appreciate Toby Alderweireld’s dominance in defence, this tweet re-affirms the center back’s contributions throughout the years. Not only is he one of the best Premier League defenders in the Premier League, Alderweireld easily ranks amongst the top five in the world. It’s a pleasure to have the Belgian marshalling our back line.

Spurs flawless home record

Spurs lay claim to the Premier League’s most stingy defence. On top of that, Tottenham love playing at home. We strike the fear of death into travelling teams, as demonstrated by the stat table below. Spurs don’t just have the best home record in England, they have the second best home record in Europe.

Only Juventus, who haven’t dropped a single point at home thus far, have a better home record than Spurs. The end of the season will mark an end to Spurs first White Hart Lane reign. It will be sad to leave the Lane while the modern facility is being finished, but what a way to go out. Hopefully Wembley will be kinder next year than it has been during the current campaign.

It’s time to believe

This tweet says a lot about what has transpired this week. Four points down and six games to go. Chelsea are fragile and Spurs continue to steamroll ahead. Mauricio Pochettino and his gang are relentless in their title pursuit.

And I for one can’t wait to see Spurs chase Chelsea down like the dogs they are.
