Good morning/afternoon and welcome to HotspurHQ’s live coverage of the North London Derby. Tottenham travel to the Emirates on a hunt to reclaim some shred of good form before the international break.

Going into the last international break in October, Tottenham were on a high. They had just beaten Manchester City 2-0 and were second in the Premier League table. Pundits and fans pegged them to go on a tear despite a dense fixture list in the following weeks.

Injuries to Harry Kane and Toby Alderweireld blunted Mauricio Pochettino’s ability to build on that City win however. Over the intervening six matches in all competitions, Tottenham have drawn four and lost two.

It’s under that cloud of mediocre results that Tottenham arrive at their rivals Arsenal. Arsène Wenger’s boys are one of the hottest teams in the league at the moment. An injury-ravaged Tottenham starting XI is expected to struggle.

There are some reasons for hope. As Alex Balano has reported, Kane will make his return for the derby. Pochettino’s also made plenty of noise about wanting to see some immediate improvement from Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen.

In addition, we’ve broken down Tottenham’s probable lineup and tactics on the day. If you’re curious about what to expect from Arsenal, check out our opposition scouting report. And, finally, feel free to disagree with our combined best XI from both teams.

Check back for lineup news about an hour before kickoff, then return again for half-time analysis and full time thoughts!
