Matchday Live: Bayer Leverkusen v Tottenham
By Ryan Wrenn
Half-time Thoughts
What a game we have here, even at 0-0 on the break.
Despite torrential rains and a head official very much willing to look the other way, Tottenham and Bayer Leverkusen are playing some of the best football they’ve played all season.
As you’d expect, it’s featured an exceptional amount of pressing. Thus far Tottenham have gotten the better of it for the most part, and consequentially have had the better chances.

With a couple of notable exceptions, Tottenham’s players have not looked especially rattled. Indeed, the likes of Alli and Lamela appear to be absolutely thriving in this environment.
The only problem to speak of is that Spurs have done nothing to take advantage of their edge in this game. They’re besting their opponents away from home, have had six chances on goal but only one on target. Misses by Alli and Janssen could be rued come full-time.
