Érik Lamela earned his call up to Argentina after a very fine season with Tottenham.

Argentina duty is not unfamiliar to Lamela. Even as he struggled with Tottenham, he regularly got called up to La Albiceleste, even if he only rarely got minutes on the pitch.

With the likes of Lionel Messi, Ángel Di María and Javier Pastore in the squad, Lamela’s chances are likely not going to get much better anytime soon. That said, having proved what he’s capable of under Pochettino, there’s a bigger chance than ever that Lamela could make his mark in this summer’s tournament in the United States.
