A day before Tottenham Hotspur’s home season finale against Southampton, Spurs’ chairman Daniel Levy, has penned a heartfelt message inside of the matchday program about how successful this season has been and the challenges that they face ahead.

Daniel Levy’s message is long and detailed but because he has described his feelings about what Mauricio Pochettino has done, the coaching staff, the players and especially the supporters as well, it’s only right to put Levy’s words out there in the open for everyone to read. And to tie up an amazing 2015-16 season.

The full statement can be found on Tottenham’s official website, but for now it’s best to take some key paragraphs which not only highlights Spurs’ best moments but also the challenges that Daniel Levy is talking about.

And now, let’s begin shall we?

Dear Supporter

“We start today’s match knowing that a Champions League place is ours to take.”

“Second place would secure our highest league finish since 1963 and mark the culmination of a truly remarkable season.”

“This has been a season when our team has taken to the pitch and reminded us all why we love this game and why we love our Club.”

“A second season under Mauricio and his coaching staff has seen the team achieve far more than we had anticipated.”

“This was a season that saw us go a Club record 14 Premier League games unbeaten and challenge for the title right up until this week. With a blend of youth and experience we have seen a squad built for the future.”

The challenges that Daniel Levy talked about are no doubt trying to continue having success for future seasons after raising the bar in Mauricio Pochettino’s second year as manager. Which topped what he did in his first year on the job.

With Champions League a certainty — finishing the season is just a formality now — Tottenham must go out and bring in plenty of depth as their bench left a lot to be desired.

Pochettino’s starting eleven is one of the best in the Premier League, perhaps even the best this season, but what has bogged them down is when a starter had to be subbed off and the player coming in couldn’t help Tottenham push through for a win or an equalizer.

Another challenge of course has been the stadium.

Which Daniel Levy documents as taking 15 years to acquire the necessary land and nine years to design and plan the stadium for approval.

Now that they have been given the green light to begin construction, things are progressing smoothly but now supporters will have to have their seats arranged as certain sections of White Hart Lane must be taken down to help construction work continue moving forward.

Overall, Levy asks that supporters continue to help support the Club like they have done throughout this season. And it is something that the 54-year-old made sure to address in his closing paragraphs.

“A standout feature of this season has been the unity between players and you, our supporters.”

“The players and coaches will take to the pitch after the match today to thank you and applaud you for the immense support you have given them. I shall be proudly applauding you all.”

“I firmly believe that this was a season when so much has come together.”

“Enjoy the Euros and the summer and we look forward to welcoming you all back here next season.”

Best wishes to you and your families

Daniel

Leicester City may have won the Premier League title, but Tottenham’s season has been just as successful as the Foxes.

Mauricio Pochettino has vowed that his team will challenge for silverware in future seasons and with the current squad, there really is no reason why they can’t. Even if the “Big Five” will look to come back stronger next year after playing inconsistently from start to finish.
