With Leicester City drawing one-all against Manchester United today, there’s still a chance for Tottenham to climb back into this title race. All they have to do, is win three games without the Foxes picking up two points to close out the season.

A 1-1 draw between Leicester City and Manchester United have made things very simple for Tottenham prior to their Monday night game against Chelsea.

A win will give Tottenham a five point gap to work with while forcing Leicester to beat Everton at the King Power Stadium on Saturday to clinch the Premier League title. A draw or loss, and the Foxes will win it all.

It’s amazing to think that despite a 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion in Tottenham’s last match, Mauricio Pochettino’s side could still get close to first place even with an eight point gap separating Spurs from Leicester at the moment.

The only problem that currently stands in front of Tottenham’s way, besides a huge London derby against Chelsea, is the simple fact that Spurs haven’t won at Stamford Bridge since February 1990 — a 25-match unbeaten streak.

Which could either continue or be broken.

In order for Tottenham to have a shot, or a much better chance, to win at Stamford Bridge, Eric Dier needs to be fit and for now his status is more or less still up in the air.

Should Dier be available it’s obvious that Spurs’ chances of claiming three points and a win increase. If Eric Dier is unavailable then a 25-match unbeaten streak could reach 26 games.

And when coupled with Dele Alli’s suspension which takes immediate effect against Chelsea tomorrow night, Tottenham’s performances against Manchester United and Stoke City — which saw them score seven goals and keep two clean sheets — will be difficult to replicate.

That being said, it’s obvious that Pochettino will have his squad ready regardless, following last Monday’s one-all draw after they had the game in the palm of their hands during the first half. Before eventually letting West Brom off the hook for the final 45 minutes.

Perhaps Mauricio Pochettino’s quote of “excitement” which he used on Leicester during his press conference yesterday, played a part in Tottenham’s last few matches when they had a chance of overtaking the Foxes back in March and once again last Monday before coming away with undesirable results against West Ham United, Arsenal, Liverpool and West Brom.

Next: Who Will Start for Spurs Against Chelsea?

Looking at the table, with how everything stands, Leicester are two points away from lifting the trophy whereas Spurs must win all three of their remaining games to even upset the Foxes’ Cinderella story by a single point or based on goal difference.

The journey until the end of the season continues and the next road block is Chelsea. Who will do whatever it takes to stop Tottenham from winning on their ground, for one. And two, to end Tottenham’s Premier League title hopes.

Should Spurs lose, it will be crushing for sure, but looking at the big picture, this season is still a success and could be the beginning of a very bright future.
