Mauricio Pochettino has gone on record and said that he will remain with Spurs because he’s happy, but at the same time, a dream job for him is to manage Paris Saint-Germain one day.

Every manager, and player for that matter, has a dream job or club that they would like to join before they officially retire. And for Mauricio Pochettino, he is no exception despite doing a marvelous job with Spurs in the Premier League.

Pochettino still has three years left on his current five-year contract that he originally signed when he took over in May 2014. But even though he has a good project going at the moment, the 44-year-old isn’t in a rush to sign an extension just yet.

That doesn’t mean that he wants to leave, but it could be another way of keeping his options open and not remaining tied down to his current situation. Even if he has certainly reaped plenty of benefits by coaching Spurs.

After speaking to French radio station RMC about targeting Olympique Marseille striker, Michy Batshuayi, and Olympique Lyon center-back, Samuel Umtiti, Pochettino has talked about his dream to one day manage Paris Saint-Germain.

A club that he holds very dear and close to him after playing there for two seasons (2001-03) and being the club’s captain.

“I’ve always said that I would be pleased to join a great club like PSG,” Pochettino told French radio station RMC  (quotes via The Telegraph).

“Come to Paris? I hope so. It is true that it would please me. It’s part of my dreams. I try to watch all their matches, especially in the Champions League.”

But even though Mauricio Pochettino would love to coach PSG, he’s not actually a fan of the French league itself. And that’s mostly down to the fact that Les Parisiens are far and away, in a league of their own. After all, they’ve won the past four Ligue 1 titles in a row and have dominated every French club in the process.

“The [French] championship is not very attractive because PSG is far from the other teams but I look a lot because it is a major source of players – there is talent so I have to follow Ligue 1.” said Pochettino.

With current PSG manager, Laurent Blanc, signing a two-year extension in February, he has been given a vote of confidence to remain as coach for at least another season.

But with Pochettino talking about his affection for Paris Saint-Germain, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if Qatar Sports Investments, the owners of PSG, decide to try and pry Mauricio Pochettino from Tottenham.

And the only way that could realistically happen is if Daniel Levy messes up contraction negations with the Argentine manager.

Because the way the Telegraph has phrased it, it seems a major priority for Pochettino to remain as Spurs’ manager is to ensure that his current coaches: Jesús Pérez, Toni Jiménez and Miguel D’Agostino are also retained.

If not, then Tottenham could potentially be looking for another manager.
