Tottenham Secures Another Win Over Bournemouth
With Tottenham’s win over Bournemouth, Spurs are once again five points adrift of league leaders, Leicester City.
There’s no bad blood between Tottenham and Bournemouth but scoring first and exacting revenge after falling behind 1-0 in the reverse fixture between both team’s first meeting in October, surely had to be on the minds of Tottenham players.

And fittingly enough, it would be Harry Kane who scored the opening goal after he netted a hat-trick at the Vitality Stadium to help get back into a scoring frenzy. Since that game, the England international has been sensational this year notching his 20th goal of the campaign — the first player this season to reach the 20-goal mark.
Fifteen minutes later, Kane would score a second time and pick up a brace off of another Dele Alli assist to give him 21 goals in the Premier League and 24 in all competitions. Alli by the way has now picked up his ninth assist in the Premiership.
At 2-0 in less than 20 minutes, it was more than enough for Tottenham to ease by the Cherries from the first minute of the game.
The rest of the first half saw Spurs have plenty of possession and chew up the clock while imposing their will on a shaken Bournemouth side who conceded 50 seconds into the match and never looked confident to take on Tottenham.
Seeing as how they constantly allowed pressure to come at them from both flanks — with Danny Rose and Kyle Walker having their way — and Kane and Alli coming right down the middle.
For the second half and still ahead by a scoreline of 2-0, Bournemouth would finally get things going but it didn’t matter. As the Cherries couldn’t finish their shots, with none of them being on target and testing Hugo Lloris. Set pieces also proved to be ineffective.
Therefore it was straight forward from the get-go for Spurs. Tottenham just had to score early and often and keep possession of the ball.

A third goal wasn’t necessary with how the game was unfolding but it was good to see Christian Eriksen get on the board once again just seven minutes into the second half.
After Kane was looking for another hat-trick against Bournemouth for the second time this season, his shot was hit with so much power that Artur Boruc could only parry the ball away to an on-rushing Eriksen to notch an easy tap-in to essentially put the game well out of reach.
At 3-0, the game was well over. And all in all, Tottenham got the job done against a team they not only had to beat, but had to fight against any sort of complacency.
It helped that Tottenham got the game’s opening goal and weren’t troubled by Bournemouth throughout the match but Mauricio Pochettino’s side had to make sure they saw the game out before celebrating three points.

Now that the international break is coming up, Tottenham’s season won’t resume until April 2nd when they travel to Anfield and take on Liverpool. As usual, the next game is important to win and with Leicester City seemingly able to always secure a close victory, Spurs can’t afford to drop points, with Leicester living on the edge lately.
