Did Tottenham Lose Two Players to Season-Ending Injuries?
Tottenham could have possibly suffered two season-ending injuries with Nabil Bentaleb and Cameron Carter-Vickers going down recently.
Any injury news is bad news, but whether this is actually legitimate or not is hard to tell. Seeing as how the Twitter account called Tottenham Academy isn’t actually official. It’s not associated with the club itself.
It is however run by someone or some people who regularly watches the youth academy play and can then talk about what’s going on. So therefore, take these two tweets below with a grain of salt.

First, let’s go over the fact that both players didn’t play a part on the team this season. So losing them to injury (more on that later on) won’t exactly hurt Tottenham’s chances of potentially lifting the trophy or causing them to miss out on winning it all.
Yes, Nabil Bentaleb has gotten a couple of starts here and there this season, but because he’s battled injuries and a loss of form this term after a breakout campaign a year ago, it hasn’t felt like he actually played.
That being said, despite suffering an injury, having Bentaleb play with Spurs’ second team was a way to help him get back to full fitness because there was no chance of him surpassing Eric Dier.
And sitting on the bench wasn’t going to do him any good at all.
For Carter-Vickers, he’s mostly been on the bench when he was called up to the first team. As a member of Tottenham’s Under-21 team, the 18-year-old is still fine tuning his game in anticipation of a possible chance to play for Mauricio Pochettino starting next season.
Now, onto the injuries and what has actually been said about Bentaleb and Carter-Vickers.
Here’s Tottenham’s official website following Spurs’ U-21 win over Leicester’s U-21:
"“Nabil Bentaleb then saw his effort charged down as we kept the early pressure on before we found the opener on 14 minutes. Miller’s corner was repelled as far as Sonupe on the edge of the box and Harrison stuck out a leg to steer the winger’s drive past goalkeeper Ben Hamer.”“Bentaleb was forced off injured moments later with Joe Pritchard coming on in his place.”"
Apparently Bentaleb suffered an injury sometime after his attempt was gobbled up the ‘keeper. How it happened is unknown at this point in time.

As for Carter-Vickers’ injury, there was a link from the above tweet which is a Q&A with U.S. U-23 coach, Andi Herzog, regarding his 23-man selection for their two-legged Olympic qualifying play-in games against Colombia.
The only thing that mentioned Carter-Vickers was a quick note. And here it is:
"(NOTE: Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers was also originally on the roster but was replaced due to injury on Saturday)."
In essence, there’s not much to go about these injuries because the club hasn’t really talked about it after it happened. Perhaps it’s because they’re minor and the club is still gathering information before going into detail of what actually happened.
Or, because the Twitter account above isn’t exactly official and a part of the club, therefore his/her analysis of the situation isn’t concrete at the time being.
What is correct though, is that both Nabil Bentaleb and Cameron Carter-Vickers did in fact suffer injuries.
To what extent and severity though isn’t known.

Again, losing two players due to injury is bad — and if it’s a season-ending injury then that’s worse — but both players didn’t help Spurs get to where they’re at right now in the league table.
And they surely won’t cause Tottenham to lose any games just because they’re hurt.
