Tottenham Show Resiliency to Come From Behind and Win
Tottenham didn’t crumble under pressure and showed how much fight they have by winning 2-1 and remaining two points behind Leicester City.
For the longest time, it looked as if Swansea City would finally upset Tottenham after seeing the reverse fixture end in a 2-2 draw when Christian Eriksen twice scored and equalized on two well taken free kicks.
This time around, set pieces would return as Tottenham’s go-to route of scoring but instead of free kicks it would be corners instead. And the winning goal was perfectly executed by Spurs with Danny Rose scoring the game-winner in the 77th minute to complete a comeback win in style.

Of course Swansea City never made this game easy, mostly due to their Polish goalkeeper and obvious Man of the Match winner in a losing effort, Łukasz Fabiański.
Who produced perhaps this season’s best performance by a ‘keeper after making 12 incredible saves on 14 shot attempts. Though Tottenham would end the game with an insane amount of shots with 34 of them.
Throughout this game, despite Swansea taking an early lead in the 19th minute they never looked like they were ever actually in full control of the match. Seeing as how they lacked any form of defense and constantly let Tottenham have their way.
But with Fabiański on his game and Spurs coughing up some good opportunities to score an equalizer earlier in the game, it was actually fitting to score in the 70th minute off of a Nacer Chadli goal. Seeing as how the Swans scored in the 19th minute.
Essentially both teams managed goals with the number 20 being present. Swansea scored 20 minutes into the game. And Spurs equalized with 20 minutes left. Besides this coincidence, what this game proved for everyone who are still on the fence of Tottenham’s chances of being a title contender. Is how much resiliency they have shown this season. That is, to never give up no matter what.

Time and time again, when Tottenham are down and seemingly out of a game, they manage to continue fighting and end up drawing to earn a point or eventually all three points when they had no right to do so.
Playing against a team like Tottenham who constantly brings 90 minutes of football from start to finish, and are never tired makes Mauricio Pochettino’s side nearly unstoppable in a fitness level sense.
But eventually, this has carried over to Spurs’ mentality and their confidence continues to grow. As evidenced by the team not giving up today and continuing to put immense pressure on Swansea’s defense even if it wasn’t there most of the time.
And although Łukasz Fabiański did his best to keep a clean sheet and prevent Tottenham from equalizing, let alone scoring two goals past him, all by himself. Eventually Tottenham broke through and fully deserved this result.
Spurs’ determination to fight in three competitions before getting knocked out in the FA Cup by Crystal Palace is a breath of fresh air from previous seasons when the term “That’s so Spursy” meant Tottenham would choke away a lead and eventually lose or draw. Now, “That’s so Spursy” has taken a new meaning.

The meaning could vary from person to person, but generally it now means Spurs aren’t easy pushovers. In fact they’re the most difficult team to compete against in the Premier League besides Leicester City.
And while this victory didn’t come easily, this win not only gives Mauricio Pochettino’s side their sixth consecutive win in the Premier League and two points behind Leicester City once again.
But a come from behind victory could be what seriously elevates Tottenham’s game into Premier League title favorites despite Leicester’s current form at the moment.
