Let’s take a look at the latest Tottenham Hotspur Links today!

So what’s there to read after Tottenham’s 2-1 win over Watford at Vicarage Road? Just a couple of stories. One involves Mauricio Pochettino and another thought of Premier League title aspirations. This topic will never get old and it’s good to talk about because it’s been a while since Tottenham were thought of as legitimate contenders. Even being considered a dark horse for the league title is good enough.

And finally, Jamie Carragher also believes that Tottenham can challenge for the Premier League title as well. But he goes into a little bit more depth, by highlighting Spurs’ strengths and how it will be their main keys for success this season. Now it’s time to head to these links down below.

Yes, a Premier League title is possible for Tottenham. No, this isn’t a fluke of a season. It’s not Spurs’ fault that Manchester United have somehow gone on an eight-game winless streak (including today’s draw against Chelsea), and Chelsea have managed to look like a relegation club than the defending league champions.

However, even with other club’s miscues it still falls on Tottenham’s shoulders to put together wins and get maximum points each month whenever possible. For these past three games and in the month of December, Spurs won four games, drew once and suffered one loss in all competitions — which included three straight wins.

“I think that the numbers reflect that it [the title] is always possible,” he said. “But the most important thing for us is to keep working very hard, because we are very young.”

“You need to show the strength during the whole season and, if we start to speak today about the title, it is still most important to work hard and show in every game what we showed today.”

Next weekend is another away fixture, this time at Goodison Park against Everton. Tottenham will, as usual, take one game at a time, play their brand of football which looks like it’s letting the game come to them — literally. As in having the opponents dictate the game and then high-press and counterattack them.

“It’s very important to keep our feet on the ground. We have very clever and smart players that are available to learn about football. The key is to keep behaving in the same way as we did six months ago when we started the league.”

It’s hard to argue with many of these points that Jamie Carragher listed. The only thing that will need to be addressed, obviously, is getting an extra striker or someone who can play both as a striker and a wide midfielder.

That is unless Mauricio Pochettino has found a suitable player to fill in both roles with either Son Heung-min or Nacer Chadli.

More from Hotspur HQ

Many times this season, while Leicester City was stealing the limelight — rightfully so in all honesty — with their superb form, and Manchester City and Arsenal trying to battle each other for first place. Tottenham have consistently risen up the table since the start of the season.

The major talking point for Spurs since the summer was the need to sign a striker. Which still tends to dominate the headlines when people talk about Tottenham, but technically speaking, they have it covered right now.

So instead of talking about who Tottenham should bring in, in January, maybe it’s time to just talk about what they’ve accomplished thus far?

Next: Tactical Switch Crucial to Tottenham Win

Consider this, in every single month in all competitions Tottenham have managed only one loss in four out of five months played this season. The only clean sheet month Spurs had was November when they posted a 4W-2D-0L record.

While Tottenham still have too many draws, a couple of them helped Tottenham reach third place heading into the New Year. It’s always better to get wins, but that doesn’t happen all time, because it’s not supposed to. Otherwise no one would win since someone has to lose.
