Tottenham rotated through a number of longterm goalkeepers throughout its Premier League history, as you’ll see. Keller’s time at Tottenham was notable for his fine play but also for helping to usher in a generation of fine American goalkeepers.

Brad Friedel, Tim Howard and Brad Guzan owe some small part of their success to Keller’s career with Tottenham and elsewhere. Friedel in particular followed in Keller’s footsteps at Spurs and became an excellent keeper at White Hart Lane.
