Harry Kane, Kyle Walker, Dele Alli and Eric Dier represent Tottenham Hotspur in England’s upcoming international friendlies.

Yesterday the Telegraph published an article about four Tottenham players being named to Roy Hodgson’s England senior national team setup. Striker Harry Kane and right-back Kyle Walker will be joined by central midfielder Dele Alli and defensive midfielder Eric Dier for November friendlies against Spain and France.

For Tottenham’s two youngest stars this season, Dele Alli and Eric Dier, they received their first senior call-up. The next thing for them would be getting their first senior cap over the international break. Both players have represented England’s Under-21 national team in the past so this is a big honor for the two of them.

Two key reasons why Eric Dier was selected from Gareth Southgate’s Under-21 England side was because Roy Hodgson had been impressed with Dier’s conversation from center-back to defensive midfielder this season. Also, with injuries to Jack Wilshere and Jordan Henderson, there was a clear need to call up Dier who has been one of the Premier League’s best defensive midfielders this season.

With regards to Dele Alli, in general he’s just impressed overall since moving into a starting role in Mauricio Pochettino’s offense. Alli has become a very great bargain signing for £5 million from MK Dons, who were playing in League One last season, and he also fills a homegrown player spot that is a necessity for Premier League clubs.

Here is England manager Roy Hodgson talking about Eric Dier and Dele Alli:

"“He [Dier] has done very well. It obviously a position in the centre of midfield, someone of a defensive bent, and there are not a lot of these players available to us. We are more blessed with forward-looking players and attacking players. Having seen him do so well for Tottenham in a defensive role, he deserves his chance. In a good Tottenham team he has been a key figure. The same goes for Dele Alli who we took with on the last occasion. He has impressed us a lot and continues to impress.”"

Obviously this is great for Tottenham to have four players being represented in two international friendlies. This means a couple of things. One, Spurs are a Club that is producing quality talent — like other clubs in England are doing — but have struck gold, so to speak with all four selections: Harry Kane, Kyle Walker, Dele Alli and Eric Dier.

More from Hotspur HQ

Harry Kane has come out of nowhere to be one of the Premier League and England’s best strikers in quite some time. Kyle Walker has become one of the better right-backs in the Premier League and has only gotten better this season thanks in large part to staying healthy as well as Kieran Trippier’s arrival over the summer.

Lastly, Dele Alli had been making some noise with MK Dons but was largely overlooked due to playing in League One at the time. In Eric Dier’s case, he solidified himself as a jack-of-all-trades player last season in Pochettino’s first year as manager but wasn’t particularly great at center-back or right-back. He was however, very good at providing cover at both positions and could be played in a pinch whenever needed.

All in all, Tottenham are shaping up to be a successful breeding ground for young talented players to shine in a Mauricio Pochettino-led offense. No matter how young a player is — Josh Onomah (18) and Dele Alli (19) are two examples — they’ll be given plenty of opportunities to earn a spot as a starter or substitute coming off of the bench.
