Tottenham Hotsupr Links: 10/29/15 Morning Edition
Here’s the morning edition of Tottenham Hotspur news.
It’s going to be a busy morning with all of this news coming out. Not surprising since the morning is where all the best news happens and the rest of the day seems to tail off with everybody getting off of work and going home or doing other stuff that people do. The news for today is about two youth players and one former goalkeeper which is different from yesterday’s links which had Arsenal stories that were related to Tottenham. However what will be different this time, is that Hotspur HQ will split up the morning news. There will be less stories so that the afternoon and evening editions will have more. Now for the news links down below.
– Luke McGee signs contract extension until 2019 [via Tottenham’s official site]
After signing Cameron Carter-Vickers to a contract extension until 2018 yesterday, Luke McGee, another youth academy product signs an extension. The 20-year-old goalkeeper turned professional last summer in July 2014 and made 18 appearances for Tottenham in the U-21 Premier League during the ’14-’15 season.
McGee would make one senior appearance for Spurs in the pre-season against AC Milan in the 2015 Audi Cup which was hosted in Munich in August 2015. The England international is still a ways to go to before being promoted to the first team as long as Michel Vorm is still on the 24-man squad. Should Mauricio Pochettino want to go with a different direction at backup keeper, Luke McGee would be the obvious choice.

– Former Tottenham captain and center-back, Michael Dawson, backs Dele Alli [via talkSPORT]
A fan favorite, Michael Dawson had glowing words for Tottenham’s talented 19-year-old midfielder, Dele Alli. Dawson was quoted as saying this to Alli: “It’s unbelievable where he’s come from, from League One and getting MK Dons promoted last year, Speaking to people around the club, you hear that even at the age of 18 he was always the best player on the pitch. And now for him to step up and play ten games in the Premier League and getting an England cap too, it’s a credit to him and his talent. He’s going to be a very important for England and for Spurs in the future.”

– How Watford helped Heurelho Gomes over Tottenham nightmare [via London Evening Standard]
The nightmare that Heurelho Gomes is talking about is due to, first and foremost, how Watford welcomed the Brazilian goalkeeper more than Tottenham. “I am feeling more settled because the club [Watford] welcome me, more than Tottenham. I am feeling better than my time at Tottenham, physically, mentally, everything.” To Gomes, Watford are a close-knit unit. They’re more family oriented in a way. The club helps you out.
Former players can say what they want about their former employees, especially when they get interviewed about it in the first place. This isn’t a sour response by the 34-year-old Brazilian international, he was just telling it how it was when he was playing for Tottenham. It’s unknown if things have gotten better since Gomes has left, as in Spurs being a more family oriented team. But what is known though, is that both parties have moved on and are doing good now.
