Tottenham Hotspur morning news is back for readers once again.

After a one day absence due to time constraints as was mentioned in last night’s evening edition, the morning edition of Tottenham Hotspur Links is back! So what exactly was up with the time constraints? The title initially was for a morning edition but the time had bled into the afternoon so the title didn’t make sense anymore. It would just be confusing. But in honesty do the titles matter that much? Maybe, maybe not, so long as the readers are able to get their latest Tottenham news. Onto the links.

Cameron Carter-Vickers signs a contract extension [via Tottenham’s official site]

The Tottenham center-back and United States Men’s National Team’s Under-23 international is extending his contract until 2018. Perhaps this means his new contract will expire at the end of the 2017-2018 season? Still just 17-years-old, Cameron Carter-Vickers has already represented the U.S. in the FIFA U-20 World Cup earlier this summer and is currently representing the U.S. U-23 youth team that’s trying to advance into the U-23 Olympics at Rio de Janeiro next year in Brazil.

The English-born defender is playing with Spurs’ second team in the U-21 Premier League and it’ll be a couple of more years until CCV will get a chance to make an impact on Mauricio Pochettino’s first team.

Dominic Ball has impressed at center-back for Rangers [via Rangers’ official site]

Tottenham loanee, Dominic Ball, has been starting alongside Rob Kiernan after starter Danny Wilson suffered a calf injury. In three games that Wilson went down, Ball has gotten into a groove with Rangers and wants to stay as one-half of the starting center-back pair if he had his way. Of course there’s no rivalry between Dominic Ball and Danny Wilson, but it shows how competitive Spurs’ youngster Ball is. He knows that he’s in-form right now and in order to maintain that current form, he needs to continue playing games. It seems everything is going well for 20-year-old English international.

Danny Rose hopeful Tim Sherwood is back in football soon [via Sky Sports]

As a former manager for Tottenham, the supporters could say what they want regarding Tim Sherwood — good or bad — but for Danny Rose, he is expressing sadness over the fact that his former coach has just been sacked by Aston Villa.

This isn’t surprising given the fact that Rose knows Sherwood very well since 2008 and has a very good relationship with the 46-year-old manager. Despite struggling early in his Tottenham career, Tim Sherwood kept faith in the left-back.

Sherwood made sure to back up his player no matter what and even gave him advice in order to succeed. When Rose was on loan at Sunderland, Tim Sherwood would watch it on TV and text him after the game to say that Rose had done well. This is a manager going above and beyond for his players and someone who cares so much about football in general and it shows.

Ryan Mason is ready to compete [via Tottenham’s official site]

Since being sidelined with a knee injury, Ryan Mason has watched his team from the sidelines. During his absence, Tottenham have done well especially Dele Alli who is now the starter at central midfield. Of course Mousa Dembélé has also excelled since returning from his own injury. In all, Mason knows that the competition is fierce in front of him but he’s well aware of the challenge ahead.

“I’m happy to be back. We’ve got competition for places all over the pitch and that’s why we’re doing so well. Everyone is on their toes, improving each other, the players who aren’t playing are training hard and driving on the players who are playing. It’s good to be part of that and we’ve got a few extra days now until the next game, so hopefully I’ll train well, get more fitness under my belt and push for a start.”

It’ll be interesting to see who will remain as the main starter at central midfield. Who will be the presumptive backup as a spot starter in the FA Cup and/or Europa League and who will be a second half substitute in every single game if Mauricio Pochettino needed to rotate some players. Tottenham are getting healthy at key positions and soon will be hoping to challenge in three competitions this season.
