Tottenham Hotspur Links: 10/28/15 Afternoon Edition
Your afternoon fix of Tottenham Hotspur news is here.
Hotspur HQ looks to be back to normal with the daily links post for today. There was a morning edition with some good news. With the afternoon edition, it’s going to get weird. Typically it’s a slow news day when all of the big stories happen early in the day, the morning if you will, so afternoon stories tend to be leftovers that weren’t covered in the morning edition. This article will have three stories. Now whether there’s anything for the evening edition remains to be seen, but Hotspur HQ will try to get one out so long as there’s something interesting to talk about. Time for the links below!
– Arsenal scout wanted Tottenham player, Heung-Min Son [via The Secret Footballer]
Your initial reaction may be “Why would you link an Arsenal story in a Tottenham blog?”. The answer is because it involves an Arsenal scout claiming that they scouted Heung-Min Son “over 30 times last season” and that this scout compared him to Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg. To say that this Arsenal scout wasn’t impressed with Son is a complete understatement whether the number is true or not. All in all, Arsène Wenger decided to not sign the South Korean international due to indecisiveness. Which is a good thing, because Tottenham were able to sign Son very quickly.
– Tottenham “will make a bid” for Alexandre Pato [via Bleacher Report]
This transfer rumor falls under the category of old transfer rumor is a new transfer rumor. What does that mean? It means something that was discussed months ago, in which a team (Tottenham) didn’t sign or attempt to sign a player (Pato) is willing to do so now almost two full months after the transfer deadline day. Will this be a good signing? Kinda. His age isn’t bad, his form isn’t bad. But his injury history is a red flag.

Yes he hasn’t been injured in a season or two since returning to Brazil. But there’s always that fear in the back of your head that he could get hurt once again especially if he goes to the Premier League. The same kind of mentality happens with Kyle Walker. He’s doing great this season but he has suffered from injuries before. It’s a natural reaction to brace for the worst outcome possible even when players are doing good. Whether that’s suffering from a dip in form, suspension or injury. It happens.

Every Tottenham supporter knows of Spurred On TV, or they should know the Youtube celebrities who covers all things Spurs.
In any event, the mix up with the words “****ing unbelievable” and “men against boys” was made possible because of a frequency issue between Spurred On TV and Vitality Stadium’s PA system.
How this actually happened is completely unknown. But apparently SOTV were broadcasting just outside the stadium during the game, and they somehow got their frequency mixed up with the PA system. Thus they were able to get their words across for everyone to here. In the end, it’s a non-issue. When watching the game, those two quotes are exactly how every supporter, both Spurs and Cherries, felt as the match was unfolding.
