Conversation Corner: Tottenham Hotspur’s Post-match Interviews after A.F.C. Bournemouth Win in the Premier League
Harry Kane:
Spurs TV: Harry’s here. Harry a proud hat-trick man today and I’m sure you’ll agree. I mean before we talk about you,y our team needed that win after Anderlecht, didn’t we?
Harry Kane: No definitely. We’ve been playing well in the league and obviously Anderlecht was disappointing and we wanted to bounce back. And yeah we done that today, obviously they started well. Probably other than the first five minutes, it is one of our best performances we’ve had. We played well, we pressed high, we created chances so we’re overly delighted with the way we played and obviously getting the five goals.
STV: And with you leading it we were clinical weren’t we? And that’s — we’ve got goals haven’t we, and when we finish them that’s what could happen?
HK: Yeah definitely and I think probably we haven’t had a lot of luck this season, as a team, chances bouncing our way. And we got that today so that’s football and you’ve got to take your chances when they come and especially when you get a bit of luck. So yeah overall it was a good day for us.
STV: Nine unbeaten in the [Premier] League that is, Harry, now.
HK: Yeah exactly we haven’t lost since the opening game of the season so our confidence is sky high. We’re playing well, even the draws that we had we probably should have won. So yeah, we’re slowly getting up the table and we’re happy with how we are and we got to keep progressing and getting better.

STV: Okay so we spoke to you after your first goal against [Manchester] City. I mean that was an important one for you this season and hat-trick today. I mean your persona hasn’t changed at all, it hasn’t really gotten to you, you’re laying well. So hat-trick is the reward you’ll get?
HK: Yeah definitely as a striker you’re going to be in and out of spells. Like I said I don’t think, probably, I’m going to be having the bit of luck like I did last season and today was the day that it changed, probably. Chances coming our way, balls drop in in front of me. So as a striker you just got to be ready and be patient. Like I said I’ve been playing well, as a team we’ve been playing well. But yeah obviously delighted to get the three goals, as a striker you want to be scoring and today was the day.
STV: It just shows doesn’t it, that if you do keep going and keep at it, it’ll happen for you?
HK: Yeah definitely. You have to be patient, especially in the Premier League. It doesn’t always happen for you, you have to wait for your chances and keep working hard and keep trying to improve and the rewards will come your way.
STV: Because you haven’t been through this before in the Premier League haven’t you? I mean you had that last season — 31 goals BANG! — and then, so you haven’t had experience of going, you know, 1 and 9 it was, wasn’t it before today. So you haven’t had that kind of experience?
HK: Exactly and that’s part of it. Obviously it’s good when it’s all going well and you’re scoring goals. But sometimes you see the true person when it’s not going so well. When you hit a bit of a low you got to be ready to stand up and fight against it. And obviously delighted to get the three goals today and it shows that, yeah I can do it and now I just got to keep going and keep the confidence building and hopefully we keep getting results.
STV: And we’re all delighted to see you again mat, well done.
HK: Thank you.
