Tottenham Hotspur Links: 10/24/2015 Late Morning and Early Afternoon Edition
Tottenham Hotspur links are ready and waiting to be cllicked!
It’s another weekend of Premier League football and the season continues to impress. West Ham has gotten wins over Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and now Chelsea today. As for Chelsea, the team looks to be in disarray for reasons unknown. The top of the league table still has the usual suspects, Arsenal and both Manchester clubs but things could get interesting very soon. Tomorrow, Tottenham will travel to the south coast to take on A.F.C. Bournemouth in a must-win game. Why? Because now is the time to get another win in the Premier League, climb up the table, snap a winless streak and beat an opponent that should not win against Spurs. With that, we start the daily links with Bournemouth’s manager, Eddie Howe.
– Eddie Howe still sees Harry Kane as a threat [via Sky Sports]
Harry Kane does possess a threat, but it hasn’t happened as much. Kane will always get the ball, what he does with it is another thing. At times he goes for goal, which isn’t bad, but other times it’s obvious that he wants to score when he should be passing it to someone else. Perhaps Harry Kane isn’t a striker but a secondary striker? It’ll be interesting to see how long will Kane be in a slump until Mauricio Pochettino pulls the plug and plays someone else up top instead.
– Toby Alderweireld wants Spurs’ strikers to improve [via TEAMtalk]
You and me both, Toby. Whether it’s bad form, a lack of belief, shattered confidence or high expectations. Spurs’ strikers are not scoring this season when given multiple chances. To score 11 goals in the Premier League, with ten goals coming from everyone else besides Harry Kane’s lone goal against Manchester City, that is a major problem. It’s good to see the team as a whole, collectively, score goals. But at some point, the strikers need to chip in as well. The waiting game is excruciating.

– Saido Berahino is slightly overweight due to transfer saga [via FootballFanCast]
Apparently you can get a bit overweight due to immense pressure from one club (Tottenham) trying to sign you from your current club (West Bromwich Albion) and failing to do so on four separate occasions. The stress levels for Saido Berahino may have gotten high enough to produce some extra pounds. But it should be nothing to worry about, Berahino will get back into shape very soon. He has to, otherwise he won’t play and deemed “unfit” which is a nice way to say “you’re overweight”.

The amount of Belgians that Tottenham are interested in and have on their current squad is outrageous. Just being linked to them comes off as Tottenham soon becoming a pro-Belgian club.
Which isn’t bad per se, Belgium is one of the up and coming footballing countries in terms of producing good footballers. But surely there are other countries out there that have talented youth players to scout and sign.
Germany routinely produces talented players like a factory, heck the whole country is a machine when it comes to football. Spain and Argentina have good players to look at too. Basically, there are other countries for Tottenham to send their scouts to. While a good portion of youth is easy to scout and watch because they’re mostly based in Europe, there are too many teams to compete against to sign a 17-year-old kid to place into your youth academy. Looking elsewhere might prove helpful if you can sign multiple youth prospects without having to compete as much with the big clubs.
