Final Thoughts:

A couple takeaways from this game should start with Heung-Min Son’s impact in the game. While his official debut against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light wasn’t as impressive as it could have been, he still put in a decent shift, clocking in at an hour. Against Qarabağ — while not on par with Spurs — Son showed what he’s capable of and a precursor for the season ahead.

The rest of Tottenham’s starting eleven and bench players all performed well minus a shaky performance by Danny Rose and some turnover issues by Érik Lamela. If Spurs can play like they did on Thursday night and carry it over on Sunday versus Crystal Palace. There should be no reason why Tottenham can’t play an effective game of high-press counterattacking football at it’s finest and win games.
