“Okay we’re here with the captain. 1-0 win at the Stadium of Light, how important was that Hugo to start with?”

“I think it was important to win that game. It was a tough game against a really good team. Even if we were both in situations — a bit complicated — but in the end, we got these three points that were important. For our first win, for our confidence and now we have to carry on.”

“As the game panned out, last season we got stronger and stronger. Did you feel that we were gonna win that?”

“I think with the ball, we can improve a lot. Especially today, I think it was a modest game — I mean possession of the ball, but we got those three points. But without the ball, the spirit was great, we were aggressive, we won a lot of challenges and that’s important in football and especially in the Premier League. The spirit is the key if you want to get results.”

“You said after the last game, at Leicester, we can’t concede straight after. They hit the crossbar but we didn’t concede and we got the three points. It’s important isn’t it?”

“Yeah but you know at this moment, we just needed three points. As I said, to get confidence, to grow up a bit. Because we were a bit under pressure before this game. So now, it’s good and we need to enjoy this first win but we need to carry on the same way.”
