Facing Sunderland Away

Kicking off tomorrow, Spurs will travel to the north coast, facing Sunderland, a club who will look to improve upon their current stance in the table. Holding down the cellar, they look to move up to the ground floor.

Former Tottenham great, Jermain Defoe will look to score against his old club, as he helps current Spurs’ loanee and Seattle native DeAndre Yedlin get settled in at the Stadium of Light. Yedlin who is experimenting in a more attacking role for Jürgen Klinsmann’s USMNT, has begun his season-long loan at Sunderland and is keen to earn more action on the pitch than he would have otherwise in North London.

Mauricio Pochettino also seems ready to hand Heung-Min Son his debut, with the likely hood of starting the former Bayer Leverkusen star. Where he lines up on the pitch may be irrelevant to where he plays throughout the match, as he is considered to be one of the most versatile players in Europe. Able to play at the #7 spot through #11, the 23-year-old is more than capable of spreading the field.

Regardless of what the naysayers might add (Steve Nicol, Craig Burley, cough, cough), the partnership of Son, Kane and Eriksen is one that could very well leap Spurs into contention for top four, as there defense continues to work in unison.
