Conversation Corner: Tottenham versus Everton
Ryan Mason:
“Ryan Mason, 0-0 against Everton, thoughts on the game?”
“Uh disappointed, obviously not to win. Thought we created more than enough chances to win the game. Yeah like I said it’s disappointing to not get the three points but, I thought the lads played well.”
“Yourself as well, unlucky in front of goal a couple of times today.”
“Umm I wouldn’t say unlucky, I probably should have tucked the second one away. And yeah like I said, we had a lot of chances to win the game and I’m sure on another day it could have been a different story.”
“Obviously fair play for your honesty there. How did you find playing further forward today?”
“It was nice to get the freedom to attack and especially to make runs forward and hopefully impact the game in the final third. And yeah I was a bit gutted I didn’t score but as long as I’m anywhere on the pitch I’m happy and looking to contribute to the team.”
“It’s like a throwback to play further forward, like in the youth team. Are you trying to bring those attacking skills into the senior team?”
“Yeah like I said, as long as I’m anywhere on the pitch — in any position — I’ll give my all. I spent a lot of my younger years playing as a striker. But in the last year or so I’ve played a deeper role which I’ve enjoyed as well. So yeah, like I said as long as I’m on the pitch I’m happy.”
“Obviously it’s a point at the end of the day, going into the international break. Is it a sense of disappointment or still lots of things to be positive about?”
“I think it’s a bit of both, y’know. Obviously we’re disappointed that we haven’t won in our first four games, but I’m sure if you’ve watched all four performances you could see that we got the better of all four teams. Yeah it could have been a totally different story if we took our chances. “
