According to talkSPORT, Tottenham target Giannelli Imbula has chosen Inter Milan.

Personal terms were agreed between player and club, basically wrapping this move up.

Another potential player is gone that Tottenham were linked to. Had they been able to capture Imbula’s signature, other defensive midfielders already on the squad would be on their way out — mainly Benjamin Stambouli and Étienne Capoue.

Even with Giannelli Imbula gone, this shouldn’t deter the club whatsoever.

There are always other defensive midfielders out there that Mauricio Pochettino could find. Because Imbula was a young talent at 22-years old — and while it’s nice to add youth — a fine balance between young and old must be taken into account.

Which is why, Tottenham’s number one target has always been Morgan Schneiderlin.

Although convincing him to join his former manager at White Hart Lane may be hard — due to his Champions League aspirations — there’s a chance that helping a club to the Champions League would bring more satisfaction than joining a club already there.

With that said, if signing Schneiderlin proves to be difficult other options could include: Grzegorz Krychowiak, David López, Emre Can, Kevin Vogt and Daley Blind
