Despite being injured for 5 months, he was named the starter in January.

To come back from injury and replace Szczęsny while also improving the team overall is pretty impressive. Since the switch in goalkeepers, Arsenal started winning games.

Perhaps it may have been a coincidence, but in the last 18 games that David Ospina started, Arsenal won 13 of those games, drew 3 games and only lost 2 games.

During that stretch, he recorded 8 clean sheets and only allowed 11 goals since his return, fully establishing himself as Arsenal’s number one keeper.

He wasn’t exactly the reason why they won, but he didn’t make them lose either.
