In the final hours as the summer transfer window draws to a close, some names to watch out for as Tottenham look to strengthen their squad and also move some players out of White Hart Lane.

A roundup of the players linked with a move to or from Tottenham in the final day for transfer negotiations.

Benjamin Stambouli

With Tottenham having reached agreement to sign midfielder Benjamin Stambouli from Montpellier according to a report in The Guardian a couple of days ago, this transfer should be completed today when he undertakes his medical. It was reported by SkySportsHQ that Stambouli was present at White Hart Lane as Spurs lost to Liverpool.

Jay Rodriguez/Andros Townsend

The Independent are reporting that Tottenham will make a move for Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez, 25, and offer 23-year-old winger Andros Townsend as part exchange in a £14m deal.

Mauricio Pochettino has been interested in signing Rodriguez from his former club Southampton but has held off as the player is out with injury and is not due to make a full recovery for a number of months. Rodriguez has returned to training and his recovery is said to be ahead of schedule which has encouraged Spurs to try and sign him.

Southampton have tried to sign Townsend this summer but, to date, Tottenham have turned down their approaches.

Southampton, however, are insistent that they are not prepared to sell any more players.

Danny Welbeck

Danny Welbeck has been linked with a move to Spurs for the past week. The Metro are reporting that he will sign for Tottenham after a £2million loan deal has been agreed with Manchester United. The Star state the fee in £3.5m while The Sun give it as £5m.

Aaron Lennon/Sandro

The Daily Mail have a report linking Aaron Lennon and Sandro with a transfer to Queen’s Park Rangers. Neither player has figured highly in Pochettino’s teams in the opening games and other clubs have shown interest in both players. Now, on deadline day, a move across London to meet up with Harry Redknapp could be on the cards.

QPR are trying to complete a loan deal for Sandro who has made only brief appearances for Spurs this season. Redknapp is also thought to be interested in Lennon who has spent nine seasons at White Hart Lane. He started the opening game at West Ham but his only other appearance was in the Europa League game at home to Limassol. Both players were left out of the Tottenham squad for the defeat at home to Liverpool.

Lewis Holtby

Lewis Holtby’s expected transfer to Hamburg should be completed today with the HSV Sporting Director Dietmar Beiersdorfer confirming that Holtby is to undergo a medical.

Zeki Fryers

The Daily Mail are reporting that Tottenham defender Zeki Fryers will complete a move to Crystal Palace today.
