By Logan Holmes
The latest news on Tottenham focuses on their search for a manager, Mauricio Pochettino, and on Aaron Lennon, Paulinho, Jan Vertonghen and Andros Townsend.
Aaron Lennon
A report in the Metro suggests that West Ham United are interested in signing Lennon who has been at Tottenham since joining from Leeds United in the summer of 2005. He has made 348 appearances for Spurs in all competitions, scoring 30 goals. He had a disappointing season last year with 1 goal and 3 assists.
Lennon hasn’t been in contention for an England place since the 2010 World Cup, his last appearances being in the opening two games of that tournament.
With so many midfield players at Tottenham, Lennon could be a player to leave this summer and Sunderland are also thought to be interested in him.
Paulinho
Before the end of the season, Paulinho was linked with a possible move to Chelsea. The Brazilian international has spoken of this speculation in an article in Four Four Two magazine which has been reported by the Metro. On the question of leaving White Hart Lane, Paulinho said,
"Absolutely not. I know how to handle my career and it’ll take more than just one bad moment before I reconsider my options. We have all got responsibilities at Tottenham and we are ready to go through this."
Jan Vertonghen
The central defender who didn’t play in Tottenham’s final matches due to injury is included in the Belgian World Cup squad but there is uncertainy over his future. There has been speculation through the season that with Tottenham missing out on Champions League football, that Vertonghen would look for a move away from White Hart Lane. The Metro reports that he is awaiting the appointment of a new manager before making any decision on his future at the club.
Andros Townsend
The England winger who missed out on England’s World Cup squad with injury and had limited opportunities in the past season with Spurs could be a target for Everton and Newcastle United as reported by the Mirror. Twelve months ago Everton were interested in signing Townsend on loan but he remained at White Hart Lane following a successful loan spell with Queen’s Park Rangers. After a positive start to last season when he was selected for England’s World Cup qualifying games, it tailed off with injury and then not making the team under Tim Sherwood before another injury which required surgery.
Alvaro Vadillo
A report in the Metro suggests that Tottenham are prepared to make an offer for the Real Betis winger Alvaro Vadillo. The 19-year-old is a player with whom Tottenham were linked last summer and their bid is thought to be in the region of £8 million.

are reporting that the club could make a formal approach to Southampton in the coming week. The
however, reported that the south coast club are determined to persuade Pochettino to remain at the club with an improved contract and funds for transfers. With many of Southampton’s young players the target for a number of clubs, they realise that if too many players leave the club this summer, Pochettino will not want to remain at the St. Mary’s Stadium.
Luke Shaw looks set for Manchester United while Adam Lallana is a target for Liverpool although according to the Daily Star, the Merseyside club fear that if Pochettino does become manager of Tottenham, the player could opt for a move to White Hart Lane.
