Tottenham leading the race to sign starlet as competition for Destiny Udogie

According to reports, Tottenham are now leading the race to sign a young star to compete with Destiny Udogie, with Chelsea and other Premier League clubs also showing interest.
According to recent reports, Tottenham are now leading the race to sign Lecce’s rising star Patrick Dorgu, a talented left-back who could provide some much-needed competition for Destiny Udogie in North London.
The 19-year-old Dorgu has quickly established himself as one of Serie A's most promising young defenders. His performances over the last year and a half have not gone unnoticed, with several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, keeping a close eye on his progress.
Tottenham, however, seem to be in pole position to secure the services of the talented teenager, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.

Lecce recently announced that Dorgu has signed a new long-term contract, tying him to the club until 2029.
Although this might look like a setback for Tottenham, it’s pretty clear that Lecce's new deal with Dorgu is just a clever way to boost his market value.
FiorentinaNews suggests that despite the contract extension, a departure for the young star is still very much on the cards.
Having picked up the Danish international for just €200,000, Lecce are now aiming to create a bidding war between interested clubs.
With both Tottenham and Chelsea eyeing him, it looks like Lecce's plan to increase the asking price is starting to work.
Tottenham's current manager, Ange Postecoglou, is reportedly keen to bolster his defensive options, and bringing in Dorgu would offer a great alternative to Udogie at left-back.
Udogie has been impressive so far this season, but having another young and hungry player like Dorgu in the squad could create healthy competition for the position.
The expectation is that Dorgu will stay with Lecce until the end of the current season, allowing him to continue his development in Italy before making a move next summer. For Tottenham, this timeline works well.
