By Kian Long
Unfortunately, there has been some negative Tottenham injury news emerge today. Lucas Bergvall is now forced to return to London.
The dreaded international break is almost over. Already this season, there has been two international breaks, with the October break coming at the worst possible time for Tottenham fans.
After all, they were just starting to find some form and then in the game before the break, they suffered a defeat against Brighton. So, the mood has been negative for Tottenham throughout the current break.
Next up, Tottenham face West Ham United in the Premier League. They already have their fair share of injury concerns heading into the London derby. Well, they can now throw one more into the equation.
Tottenham injury news: Lucas Bergvall forced to return from Sweden duty
According to Svensk Fotboll on X (formerly Twitter), Lucas Bergvall will not feature for Sweden in their international match tonight against Estonia.
It is believed the Tottenham midfielder has suffered a "minor injury." Therefore, he has pulled out of international duty and he will return to London to focus on his rehabilitation.
This is a big blow for Tottenham. Hopefully Lucas Bergvall is okay and his injury is not worse than initially believed. On the other hand, it's good that he's been allowed to leave international duty, even if it only an injury scare.
The truth is that Tottenham will learn more about his injury scare when they've had the time to digest his injury. Bergvall has only left the Sweden camp today (Monday 14 October), the day of kick-off.
In Sweden's most recent international fixture against Slovakia, Lucas Bergvall did not feature. He was an unused substitute, meanwhile Dejan Kulusevski played the entire match.
Therefore, it is likely that Bergvall picked up an injury scare while training. Hopefully, this is a sign that it isn't serious. The source did claim that it was only considered minor at this early stage.
More information will be released when Tottenham have had time to conduct their own diagnosis.
