Forgotten Tottenham man could head back home

According to reports from Spain, Tottenham full-back Sergio Reguilon could be heading back to Spain.
They suggest a deal for Reguilon to re-join Sevilla, whom he spent the 19/20 season on loan at, from Real Madrid.
He impressed several clubs with his performances in Seville that season, winning the Europa League, and ultimately prompting Spurs to fork out for the Spaniard.
But it hasn't really worked out for Reguilon in North London, with the 28-year-old spending an equal amount of time out on loan as he has actually at the club. A move back to his native Spain and to play at a club he already knows is surely the best move for him and his career if he is to get back to his best.
Fans thought the arrival of Antonio Conte, and his renowned 3 at the back set up, would help a player like Reguilon, who prefers getting forward to defending.
Even that couldn't save him though, and he eventually found himself on the bench behind Ryan Sessengon and the out-of-position Matt Doherty.

The six-time Spanish international did not join the team on the pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea in order to pursue potential deals away from the club, along with compatriot Bryan Gil. Gil has since gone back to La Liga, with Girona, and Reguilon will be hoping he also gets his and the club's wish sooner rather than later.
No doubt that part of Johan Lange's remit was to clear the decks, drain the swamp, and get rid of the deadwood that has lingered around Spurs for too long. The importance of getting rid of unwanted players has been stressed throughout the summer, and it is good to see Lange taking action.
With only 11 months remaining on his contract, Spurs will be eager to secure a permanent transfer for Reguilon, even if it's for a low fee, in order to make some money before it becomes too late. However, due to his contract status, other clubs may not be willing to pay a transfer fee for him. As a result, Spurs may be open to accepting a season-long loan deal just to get his wages off their books for the final year.
