Known British publication, The Guardian, have released another fresh list of players, with this one being the 60 best players born in 2007. The class of ’07, some might say.

It probably doesn’t surprise many people that young Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic has been named on this list. The defender has had an incredible start to life on loan in Belgium, and scored for Croatia’s U21s over the recent international break. You wonder how many of the other 59 players born in 2007 on this list, have already played for their countries U21 sides.

Someone who can do one better is Palmeiras winger Estevao, who shows just what company Vuskovic is in. He has already debuted for the Brazil senior team, and has agreed to join Chelsea in the summer of 2025. He is not the only player on the list to do so, with Ecuadorian star Kendry Paez also heading to West London next summer.

Other players on the list you may have heard of include Chris Rigg of Sunderland, as well as Marc Bernal and Pau Cubarsi of FC Barcelona. The latter was on Spain’s provisional list for the European Championships, though missed out on the final squad. Of course, the most famous of all, is the team mate of Bernal and Cubarsi – the sensation that is Lamine Yamal. Some company for Vuskovic to be in, no doubt about that.

In the Belgian Pro League this season, Vuskovic has played 10 games, starting all 10, whilst providing four goals and an assist. His brace in their most recent game against Beerschot was rewarded with a place in the EAFC team of the week, sandwiched in between places for fellow central defenders Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin.

As touched on above, the Croatian defender is a guaranteed starter under Timmy Simons, with fellow Spurs youngster Alfie Devine already getting regular game time there too. There is plenty of excitement of what the future holds for Vuskovic in North London and this is just another reminder of that.

It does make you wonder why, and how, Hadjuk Split saw a loan to Belgium as the best thing for his development, rather than regular game time there. Particularly as he wasn’t their player long term. With all these reviews and his performances so far, you feel like he could have had a fruitful season playing regular domestic football in Croatia. Still, their loss is the gain of Westerlo, and Tottenham Hotspur.
