Croatian publication, Vecernji List have suggested that Luka Vuskovic is a player that comes around every 100 years. Last Sunday's edition of the paper reported "He really started the season wonderfully. Not only did he as a 17-year-old become an unquestionable starter in the position of central stopper in a formation with three at the back, but in ten games in Belgium he has a rather incredible attacking performance of four goals and one assist.

He particularly excelled in the last game where his club drew 2:2 with Beerschot, scoring both of his team’s goals as a stopper. But the goals weren’t everything, Vuskovic had an incredible seven shots in that test, seven out of eight in duels won, 100 touches with the ball, two dangers removed, three successful sliding starts with which he saved his team from dangerous opponent counterattacks, and eight out of twelve successful long balls.”

The defender has received rave reviews for his time in Belgium so far, with some excellent performances not just defensively but also with his output, as mentioned above. His ball carrying has been praised on a number of occasions, and his aforementioned assist after he carried the ball at least 30 yards up the field. His goalscoring threat is nothing new, having scored three goals in fourteen games on loan to Radomiak Radom in Poland last season.

Spurs have made serious moves to recruit young talent recently, with Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, and Wilson Odobert all signed this year. Even more prominent starters signed last year such as Brennan Johnson, Destiny Udogie, and Micky van de Ven, , were only 22, 20 and 22 when signed respectively (Udogie was 21 when he joined the first team).

17-year old Vuskovic appears to be a continuation of that, and the squad planning must be applauded. Even his Westerlo team mate, Alfie Devine, was signed as a youngster from Alfie Devine back in 2020.
