Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been linked with another Premier League club after being recently touted as the successor to Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur finds itself at the centre of criticism following a surprising defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in their latest Premier League match. While several players have faced strong backlash, the main target of negative comments has undoubtedly been manager Ange Postecoglou.

Prior to these matches, Spurs had already been underwhelming, having lost to Arsenal and Newcastle in the league and struggling to win their Europa League and Carabao Cup fixtures.

So much so that a few weeks ago, it was reported that Postecoglou was tipped to be sacked at the end of the season, with the current Celtic manager and former Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers, being the primary candidate to take over. Now, Rodgers has been linked with another Premier League club.

Now, the club linked to Rodgers is Everton, as Paul Robinson commented on Football Insider. "Brendan Rodgers is always going to be linked to jobs back in the Premier League," said Robinson.

“You look at the Everton job; he’s already linked with that today, along with other jobs when they become available," he continued.

It’s clear that the rumours placing the Celtic manager in Premier League clubs have a logical basis, considering that Rodgers previously left the Scottish giants mid-season to join Leicester City.

However, it’s essential to put things into context. It seems highly unlikely that Rodgers would leave Celtic at this moment, especially since the club is performing well, despite the recent 7-1 thrashing by Borussia Dortmund.

Secondly, it’s not very probable that the Northern Irish coach would find it appealing to leave the best team in Scotland for an Everton side in danger of relegation, currently sitting in 16th place in the English Premier League.

Lastly, it is also highly likely that Ange Postecoglou will rectify the situation and start delivering positive results. He has demonstrated his capability for good football on several occasions, although he still has some key issues to resolve.

If the Australian manager can address these concerns, the Spurs board may choose to remain patient and keep him in charge. Therefore, it is still early to predict the future for both Tottenham and Everton’s managerial positions, and even earlier to speculate on Brendan Rodgers' next move.
