Brennan Johnson’s impressive form at Tottenham has revealed the key figure behind his resurgence - and it’s not Ange Postecoglou.

Brennan Johnson has been turning heads with his performances at Tottenham Hotspur, and now he’s opened up about the key figure behind his resurgence: Ryan Mason.

The 23-year-old winger has been in fine form this season, scoring six goals in his last seven outings, but it hasn’t all come without a bit of hard work and guidance.

Last season was a mixed bag for Johnson. While there were moments of promise, many Spurs fans felt he struggled to justify the hefty transfer fee Tottenham paid to secure his services.

However, with Ange Postecoglou and a fresh approach, Johnson has begun to find his feet, showcasing his attacking prowess and becoming a vital part of the team’s strategy.

In a recent interview, Johnson revealed how Mason, who serves as part of Postecoglou’s coaching staff, has been instrumental in helping him improve various facets of his game. “I’ve been working hard to add different strings to my bow,” he admitted.

He’s clearly eager to sharpen his skills, giving credit to Mason for helping him improve his positioning, shooting, and decision-making.

Johnson reflected on his past performances, particularly how he scored many goals by positioning himself well at the back post.

He recalled a notable goal against Manchester United, emphasizing his desire to diversify his scoring techniques. “I want to show a bit of everything,” he said.

Mason has been pivotal in helping Johnson cultivate his skills, focusing on crucial elements like the type of finishes he employs and his overall approach in the final third. “A lot of thanks must go to him because he’s been helping me a lot with that,” Johnson remarked.

What stands out this season is Johnson’s newfound composure in front of goal. Last year, he often seemed rushed and anxious when finishing chances, which hindered his performance. This season, however, he appears much calmer and more focused, allowing his natural talent to shine through.
