Ange Postecoglou is eager for the international break to end and has made it clear that he has something to say to the Tottenham players amid the current crisis.

All eyes will be on Tottenham this weekend as they return to Premier League action, lining up against West Ham.

Manager Ange Postecoglou, however, has made it clear that his players should brace themselves for a strong message when they return to training after the international break.

The Spurs squad left fans frustrated and disappointed before the break when they surrendered a two-goal lead to Brighton, ultimately losing 3-2 at the Amex Stadium.

What started as a dominant first-half display quickly unravelled into a second-half collapse, with Brighton seizing the momentum and leaving Tottenham empty-handed.

Postecoglou didn't hold back in his criticism, describing the loss as his toughest moment since taking charge at Tottenham.

He was particularly displeased with how his team lost control of the game, showing signs of complacency and a lack of focus that allowed their opponents to turn the tide completely.

While most of the Tottenham players have been away representing their countries, Postecoglou has stayed behind at Hotspur Way with a handful of first-team members.

During this time, he has had plenty of opportunities to reflect on that disappointing result against Brighton.

Speaking to Optus Sport, the Spurs boss made it clear that he is ready to let the squad know just how unhappy he is about that performance:

"You never know if the international break is good or bad. Maybe for the players it was good, but I don’t like sitting on a loss."

"There’s always a tendency to over-analyze things. The first half was unbelievable, but I didn’t like the second half and what we looked like."

"It wasn’t just the loss itself, it was the manner of the defeat that I found hard to accept. I’m ready to explode once they get back in the building, and that will be my therapy."

Postecoglou’s stance makes it clear he’s not one to shy away from tackling problems directly, determined to make sure his squad learns from their slip-ups.

There’s no brushing this one under the carpet; the Tottenham lads will have to face up to their mistakes against Brighton and turn them into a springboard for progress.
