Tottenham: Early grades on Spurs summer transfer signings
By Aaron Coe
A work in progress: Bryan Gil – C
Bryan Gil has shown some real flashes in his appearances with Tottenham. Despite having made four appearances in the Premier League, 403 of Gil’s 454 minutes have come in non-league matches. Although his opportunities have been somewhat limited, Gil has demonstrated he brings some things to the team that few others do.
Bryan has a strong and willing motor and a keen eye for a pass. His assist numbers will only go up as his minutes increase and his opportunities to play with other first-team players grow.
Gil is one of the few out-and-out wingers on the team, although he can play almost anywhere in the attacking band. The possibilities with Bryan teaming with his countryman Sergio Reguilon moving forward are the kind of thing that should excite all Tottenham fans.
Bryan showed real poise and nerve in the shootout win over Wolves in the Carabao Cup, nailing his penalty with real vigor. A real talent, Gil should do nothing but improve.
